South Irving, Texas is located just below Irving proper and is part of the Mid-Cities group of towns and cities between Dallas and Fort Worth. South Irving is surrounded by Dallas to the East, Arlington and Grand Prairie in the South, Richland Hills to the West and Irving in the North.

South Irving is part of the urban sprawl that hit a lot of the bigger cities in the Dallas-Fort Worth region. Population booms force cities to grow and expand.

The South Irving region has over two hundred thousand people and is growing. The Mid-Cities, including South Irving is a very popular and bustling area.

The Dallas Cowboys are now in Arlington, (freshly moved from Irving), and the Dallas / Fort Worth International Airport is constantly bringing in visitors from all over the country. The old Mercantile complex in the South Irving region is being renovated into a Rockefeller Center type project that will bring in even more visitors and new residents.

Only thirty miles separate Dallas and Fort Worth, the two largest cities in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Everything in between is known as Mid-Cities.
